MEET THE THERAPIST
My name is Tamara Hines and I am a Georgia-based licensed professional counselor. I have worked with teens, young adults, parents, and families for almost a decade in the counseling field. I have experience helping individuals with a broad range of concerns including coping with life transitions, depression, anxiety, parenting issues, self-esteem, family conflict, anger management, stress, forgiveness, relationship issues, childhood trauma, and career challenges. I am so grateful that I can do this work and am passionate about actively enhancing your quality of life.
My therapy style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. I use an integrative therapeutic approach to ensure that techniques are beneficial in addressing each client’s specific mental health goal. I will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique needs. Collaboration is essential on this journey. I truly believe that YOU are the expert in your life. My desire is to assist you with interpersonal changes, healing, and growth. You have already taken one step; may I encourage you to take another? If you are looking for a professional to walk with you on your journey toward wellness, I would love to work with you!
When working with clients I like to model our journey as a road trip. There is a clear and agreed destination with several stops along the way. The client is always the driver and I am there to help guide and point out different views that the client may have missed if he/she was taking this trip alone. There are some stops that may take longer than others, but all stops are essential to reaching our destination in a healthy and safe way. I believe the professional relationship between the client and the clinician is extremely important, so I consistently maintain an environment that allows the client to be honest regarding the counseling experience and progress.
